The Dominican Learning Center is grateful to the Catholic Foundation of Columbus for supporting our ministry of education and empowerment. A generous grant from the Catholic Foundation will help to support our English as a Second Language Programming in seven different parishes around the city of Columbus, including:
St. Peter
St. James the Less
St. Thomas the Apostle
St. Mary Magdalene
St. Cecilia
Christ the King
St. Matthias
These parish partnerships give parishioners an opportunity to serve their neighbors by acting as tutors and support staff for in-parish English as a Second Language Classes. This program helps build unity within the parish and aids those who are new to our country in their transition. In turn, these adult learners become more successful in their parish life, their family lives, and their careers.
"We are so pleased that the Catholic Foundation sees the value of this program, and have chosen to support it with this grant," said Denise Hilliard, DLC Director. "We are blessed with the partnership of our parish sites to be able to offer this opportunity to serve to their parishioners."
The Catholic Foundation exists to connect Catholics with the profound joy that comes with Christ-inspired generosity. As experts in philanthropy, the Foundation helps its donors support their favorite causes through Catholic-aligned investments.
